The Institute of agricultural science (ICA, for its acronym in Spanish) of the UABC (for its acronym in Spanish), is located in Ejido Nuevo León, where it offers the students the necessary conditions to develop a scientific and technological education in agricultural field, with a critical, social and value awareness. It has the necessary infrastructure to carry out the substantive functions of the UABC such as: teaching, research and dissemination of culture. ICA offers personalized attention through a tutoring, educational and psychological orientation program, a library, a scholarship program, a student mobility and professors exchange program, areas of agricultural and livestock production, specialized laboratories and experimental fields.

The mission of the Instituto de Ciencias Agrícolas is to educate professionals and researchers in the agricultural area who are competent in the regional, national, cross-border and international spheres, innovative, enterprising, critical, with a comprehensive vision and capable of transforming their environment with social responsibility, respect for the environment and ethical commitment; as well as to generate, apply, disseminate and transfer knowledge to contribute to sustainable agricultural development, the advancement of science, technology and the improvement of the level of welfare of Baja California society and the country.

In 2030, the Institute of Agricultural Sciences is an academic institution recognized for its national and international leadership in the training of human resources and the generation of scientific knowledge in the agricultural area, for having accredited educational programs, consolidated academic bodies, laboratories and certified services, extension programs and links with the public and private sectors, as well as the capacity to generate resources, technological innovation and registration of intellectual property. Its graduates act as agents of social change, promoting sustainable and competitive agricultural production in a globalized environment, entrepreneurial and committed to the generation, transfer and application of new technologies, with honesty, ethics, social responsibility and respect for the environment.
